My Tesitomony

Jesus said, “I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life. No one gets to the Father apart from me.”John 14:6

I pray my testimony will come through in every posting on this site. That it will be present in everything I do online or otherwise. When teachable moments present themselves, I want to use my experiences to show others what it means to live a Christian life. But, here’s my christian life in a nutshell.

What is a Christian?
In my experience, it means being a follower of Jesus Christ. It means that I need to seek him every day.

What does being a Christian mean to me?
I decided to follow Jesus when I was 8 or 9. It was after a Christian musical where they had an altar call and invited people up who wanted to say yes to following Him. I remember the school gym where it was held. I remember the folding chairs. I remember my friend who went up with me. I remember saying ‘yes.’ I remember receiving a small version of the Gospel of John. What did it mean for my life? Was my life going to change? I didn’t know, but I trusted God to lead me.

As I’ve grown, I’ve had good times and bad. Learning along the way is the story of my Christian life. I can point out periods of my life where I’ve grown more quickly than others. I can point to friends and family—some who have stood at the crossroads and some who have walked with me. Some days are better than others.

It means giving up certain things that make my life feel better, but don’t make it easy for me to be in tune wth the Spirit. It means giving up things like watching T.V. instead of reading a book to my daughter. Calling a friend when a thought of them comes to mind. Being sensitive to the needs of my wife when she’s been at home all day in the humid heat and I’ve been at work in the air conditioning. Ignoring the 14 pieces of porn spam I receive in my inbox everday. It means forgiving those who do me wrong.

This Christian life of mine is an every day attempt to walk the road, find the truth, and live the life.

This website is an honest portrayal of just that. I’m tired of covering up my real life with fake smiles and happy replies when sometimes I’m just hurting, confused, and unsure of the future. I am looking for people to be honest with, and for some reason I have found them here, online.

I like the site, interestingly enough, I am an “almost ready to admit it” cybergeek. I am glad that there is a site that can help me possibly express some of my joys and frustrations at times at working towards being what I’d call a committed Christian – not just a social one like many people who like to go to church on Sunday (a lot like people who don’t smoke, but will bum one off of someone else...)

It's been a year I became a Christian; what an amazing feeling! I am thirsty to know Jesus more, and more. This feeling and desirre for him doesn't stop for a second... It's like being in LOVE with someone for the first time with just one difference; this love is everlasting!

What a powerful BLOG! I am brazilian and needed ideas tto start my own blog.... after seeing yours, I know where I should start from.
God bless you.

This site is honest. I like it. I've found Brennan Manning to be helpful along these lines of honest thought as well. Maybe this site and Brennan can be of help to some folks.

MY RIGHTS TO RAISE MY CHILDREN AS CHRISTIANS WERE TAKEN AWAY FROM ME BY WISCONSINS FAMILY COURT. THE G.A.L AND OTHERS LIKE HER ARE DESTROYING THIS COUNTRY BY GIVING CUSTODY TO CRIMINALS INSTEAD OF LAW ABIDING VETERANS.
