The Lord is My (_________)

Category: Mission Trips , My Life

The last couple weeks since we got back from Turkey, I’ve been running myself ragged at work and at home with business. I was beginning to get irritable with others. But last night, a couple friends from church came over on short notice for dinner. We had a great time just connecting with each other. Just being able to talk and not have to THINK about every word you say is a beautiful thing.

At the end of the night, we prayed together and sang. What a difference in perspective when you just take time to pause and reflect with friends.

I find God in those moments. It’s like in Psalm 23 where David says, “The Lord is my Shepherd…” The thing about that passage is that I’ve never met a shepherd. I have very little knowledge about what a shepherd does… I mean REALLY does. So I can’t relate to that phrase like David could.

You see, God is my… “evening with friends.” What is God to you?

God is the 'default' in the switch statement of my life. All my tired logic falls through and he catches me.

I'm a geek, I know... apologies to those whom this makes not a bit of sense.
