Every Sunday BulletinsCategory:
My Life
Our family decided to “get outta dodge” and head up to the cottage for a couple days. Things at work have been a little stressful, the car broke down, and the weather has been depressing. I just needed a mental break. So, we left town on a whim. ![]() This was the label on the side of a box sitting in the “red room” with a bunch of old photos from uncle Ben. The box reminded me of my grandpa, a quiet, sort of aloof baptist preacher. Like many small things in grandpa’s life, these photos were stored and labled very neatly and systematically into yellowing, reused containers. This box reminded me of him. A quiet, kindly spiritual leader. One who would have encouraged me in my adventures as a blogger, even though he might not understand it. He had a way of making you feel good just by smiling. Thanks grandpa, for being who you were. Thanks for saving weird things in small containers so that we could enjoy and understand our heritage more. Thanks for passing on a strong faith and being a light in the world so that I could know Christ and pass him on to my kids. Thanks for the “Every Sunday Bulletins.” Posted by pablohart on February 07, 2003 11:12 PM |
