True WorshippersCategory:
Church
Yesterday, a woman that goes to my church pulled me aside and gave me some words of vision for our church. She had been praying upon my request to do so in light of all the talk about vision and postmodernism lately. When whe is asked to pray, she does. And hard. Her main thrust was that God wants “true worshippers.” Wow. When I heard that it made me happy. I realized that that’s what I’ve been struggling to do in my own life because of the tensions created by even studying postmodernism. I’ve found it hard to see the forest for the trees in all the talk I’ve been doing on the subject of changing our church’s vision to include stuff that will /work/ for the postmodern generation. But her reminder was clear and direct. Tonight we meet for the second time to discuss what steps to recommend to the council about “re-visioning” for our church. I pray we do what God truly wants.
