The Passion of Christ

Category: News

(Formerly “The Passion”)

LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter)—The well-documented controversy swirling around Mel Gibson’s upcoming movie “The Passion of Christ,” formerly known as “The Passion,” has movie fans so curious that they’ve been crashing Web sites in their search for bootleg trailers.

Harry Knowles at AintItCoolNews.com said his site was the first to post a “Passion” trailer about three months ago, though it didn’t last long there.

“In one day I got 350,000 downloads of that sucker,” Knowles said. “I had to take it down because it slowed down server traffic. My site ground to a halt.”

it was more about a mother losing her son.

people tend to forgot that before Jesus became a man he had to grow up first. He had a mother. He had siblings and relatives. What is wrong with this being in the movie? His mother knew his purpose but do you honestly think she wasnt heartbroken when it finally happenend? (Those of you who do not have children, please dont respond) But when it was time for Jesus to start his ministry, he did just that. Jesus was born to die, for our sins that is. He was no ordinary human being. He was God in the flesh. Instead of knowing of him, The Passion teaches us to know him on a personal level. He suffered terribly for our benefit. The movie does not teach us to hate Jews. I've seen the movie twice and I do not hate people of Jewish descent. To react this way is foolish and ignorant. Today people of all races and backgrouds hate Jesus and the people who believe in him. Does this mean we should hate? GOd forbid. If people would only watch, I mean really watch, the movie they would see there were people then who loved Jesus. And yes, some were Jews. SOme rejected him, some accepted him. The same thing is going on today. I'm glad, no overjoyed, that someone finally had the courage to show the truth. Read the Gospels (holy bible) people. Matter of fact, dont stop there, research the Roman crucifixion. I know that I will never meet Mel Gibson in person, but I love him for what he has done. I especially love the ending of the movie. Our savior lives. He reigns and if you believe in him or not, your belief does not stop him from existing. So thank you Mel, wherever you are. My prayers are with you.

The Passion of Christ, First of all I am a Christian and Love Jesus very much. I left the movie in tears and do not believe I can endure it again. I have heard from some that they didn't like the movie, I can't say I liked the movie, watching my savior being tormented then put to death. I came away feeling a new sense of awareness about how brutal and evil humans can be and how loving our God is.
