CS Lewis

Category: Observations

CS LewisI found out for the first time that CS Lewis died the same day as President Kennedy. Here’s a quote from a Lewis website:

Lewis died at 5:30 p.m. at The Kilns, one week before his 65th birthday on Friday, November 22; the same day on which President Kennedy was assassinated and Alduous Huxley died. He had resigned his position at Cambridge during the summer and was then elected an Honorary Fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge. His grave is in the yard of Holy Trinity Church in Headington Quarry, Oxford.

I’d much rather remember Lewis than Kennedy on this day. To me, Lewis’ contribution to humanity was much grander and more eternal than the latter.

Thank God for CS Lewis.
