Modern-era T.V. in a Postmodern WorldCategory:
Observations
,
Postmodernism
In a postmodern world, I find it interesting how many shows on regular-old broadcast TV are mystery, courtroom, or detective related. If I were to guess what types of shows would be more popular in this era of post-modernism, it would be more akin to “reality” TV. Of course, then again, there are quite a few of those. According to this Yahoo! site, it breaks down like: Courtroom Shows (19) While for Reality Television it’s 1615 shows. While this site is not exhaustive, it portrays a good sampling. Perhaps because I don’t have cable, I don’t see more of that postmodern mindset on TV. Perhaps they figure a more conservative, even older, crowd DOESN’T have cable and therefore “they” broadcast more conservative, /modern era/ shows. What would you think would be on TV in today’s world? Posted by pablohart on March 10, 2004 09:14 AM |
