This weekend my family went to Princeton, New Jersey to watch and celebrate my brother’s graduation from Princeton Seminary. We rented a van and piled in for the 12 hour journey to the east coast. Princeton is a beautiful university town with amazing architecture and history. We had fun! (Thanks, fam, for a great weekend!) On sunday, we visited the Nassau Presbyertian church on campus. It is a typical east coast presbyterian church in everything from architecture to liturgy. Surprisingly, the liturgy was very similar to what we do in our church. But something was different in this service. I sensed a feeling of excitement and joy from the congregants. It seemed to me that they were intentional about being there and wanted to be there. The service was an END, not just something they did to pass by the morning hours so they could get to lunch. As always, it was good to visit another church. It’s always an eye-opening experience. oh yeah! i forgot you can only /read/ Dr. Davis' sermons on this site, not hear them. another sign of east coast sermonizing: never stray from the manuscript.
i'm so glad you came out and experienced graduation with me, paul. i can't express how grateful i am.
