As I was listening to the new record by U2, I couldn’t help but notice the similarity in lyrics written by Bono almost 25 years apart.

i love your post. if you watch the DVD, you hear Bono talking about how this is their "first" album. in fact, the idea of "vertigo" came from a line in an extra song on their first single, Out Of Control. it's like they picked up--musically and spiritually--where they left off 20 years ago.
yeah, after listening to it last night, i said this is the album bono has always wanted to make. raw and real.
