Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Category: Observations

It has been snowing most of the day today. It just keeps coming down.

As I was hastily shoveling 7 inches of snow off the walk tonight, I was thinking about how I am leaving for a trip out of state first thing in the morning, how my one-year old son has been very sick with the flu the last couple days, how I’m not done refinishing the wood floor I started sanding this weekend, and how I’m not sure I’m prepared for two days of client meetings.

I started comparing life’s busy-ness with the continual snowfall. Like the snow, life just keeps coming. My first thought was, “I can handle it.” But then I wondered if this was just a small test of sorts to rely on God more. It made me think to pray without ceasing because life continues to be hard without ceasing.

Paul,

what a word picture and a great lesson to learn - only by clinging to God can we make it. Nothing - NOTHING can be done on our own. thank you again for your honesty. I could help you with the wood floors if only we lived there.
Someday.
