very interesting link. i'm gonna do some reading of this tonight! thanks.
obviously, most church marketing does in fact suck. but i would stress that the Truth of Jesus is going to always and forever be true, no matter what we humans do or say about it. my point is, it's embarrassing when people try to "make Jesus relevant in culture." Jesus is relevant. our marketing efforts can be excellent because we want to make the institution called Church more relevant or hip or whatever, but Jesus doesn't need any help from a snazzy website to be the Savior of humanity. the CMS guy covers this topic a bit in this post.
