Recommendation
A friend sent this to me. It looks really interesting and they’re doing something about social justice in Uganda by inspiring people in the U.S. to get involved. Inisible Children is “focusing on education, micro-enterprise, and ultimately, an end to the conflict. They are working with local leaders in Uganda to bring culturally relevant solutions to an enormous problem. “For the more ‘spirited’ among you, there will be a Global Night Commute on April 29, 2006 in which people all across the United States will be meeting together and sleeping outside—check the website for where it’s happening in your town. This event is to honor of the children in Northern Uganda who commute into safe areas in the city every night out of fear they will be abducted by the rebel army. They are hoping this will raise awareness and cause U.S. policy-makers to take notice and effect Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines… WE ARE COMING. This February, dozens of kids YOUR AGE, are hopping in RV’s for the ultimate road-trip. Think: road rules, with a purpose. IC will be driving across the United States and Canada, to bring the “Invisible Children: Rough Cut” film to YOUR TOWN. Join the IC Urban Safari team now.Posted by pablohart on March 09, 2006 09:13 AM |
