hey man. shari and garland had a copy of Searching For God Knows What at their house this week, so i read it. i like it as much or more as i did Blue Like Jazz. i think they both have some weaknesses, but both are really great! i'd love to go to this talk. i feel like i know him because he's of course so transparent in the books.

I agree with Nathan. I think BLJ lends itself as a tool for people questioning following Christ while Searching.. would be a great education class in a believers setting.

Has anyone read the one about his trip in a car across country?

I haven't actually read this book yet. But, I definitely hear about it. A friend of mine who normally snubs his nose at this thing called the emerging church, read this book and told me that he actually liked it. It must be doing something right.

paul, i have an extra copy of BLJ. want it?

and, about the emergent thing... as far as i know, Miller doesn't champion the cause of emergent church. it seems at least to me that the emergent church more or less claims him as one of their own. which is not to say that he doesn't support/experience/participate in the EC, i'm just not sure he thinks of himself as a spokesperson.

...email me if you want me to mail my extra copy.
